Unfortunately I’m afraid you can’t install Kodi or XBMC [1] on Roku. At the moment it does not support Kodi. The only option you haveto use it with Plex, although, It is only available for sale in the US, but if you live in another country you can XBMC on Roku 3 is going to be similar to running XBMC on a Rasberry Pi, it will generally suck. I have a Pi and yes I can make it work, but no it's not even remotely worth it. It's slow, it's far more prone to failure than Roku with Plex app and it can't transcode, which means all your files have to be only to a quality that the Roku's chips can handle. The hole is expected to be closed by Roku as fast as they can push out an automatic update, but if you get there first and hack your Roku, you can disable automatic updates. The next step GTVHacker is working on is to port XBMC onto this platform, which should be relatively easy because it is basically the same chipset at the Raspberry Pi (Broadcom BCM2835). Without a specially made xbmc client for the Roku I’m not sure what performance will be like, especially if not on the Roku 3. The Roku 3 would definitely be better suited for an XBMC client for maximum performance but they say that’s trickier to achieve at this point.
